CIM, the division of Comcast focused on growing the company’s online and mobile internet businesses, manages a portfolio of leading web properties which reach 23MM monthly unique visitors and generate 35Bn page views annually, consisting of the broadband subscriber portal Comcast.net and the entertainment and lifestyle sites Fandango, Movies.com, Fancast and DailyCandy.  CIM also manages thePlatform, a broadband media publishing services provider, as well as Plaxo, the address book management and social-networking service.

Opportunity

CIM’s Strategy & Development group is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Business Intelligence Implementation Specialist. The ideal candidate will be a bright, clear-thinking, collaborative problem solver who demonstrates an understanding of the business of online media, an ability to translate business needs into analytics code that can be communicated to CIM’s Development and Quality Assurance teams. 

The candidate’s specific responsibilities will be to:

    * Work cross-functionally to ensure all analytics tools are implemented correctly across CIM (Omniture SiteCatalyst, Quantcast, Google Analytics)
    * Ensure that measurement requirements are satisfied by managing both the process and implementation of all web analytics tags (JavaScript) for each product release
    * Ensure that exceptionally high data quality standards are maintained throughout CIM and Comcast as a whole
    * Work with internal business customers to define reporting requirements
    * Provide training on how to interpret and use data for business analysis
    * Responsible for creation of implementation instruction documents to be delivered to website developers so that analytics code can be properly implemented on websites. Tags will need to be implemented within HTML, FLASH, and AJAX environments.
    * Participate in Maintenance Release, Sprint and site re-design efforts as an analytics expert
    * Work with product/business leads to create post-launch reporting dashboards

 

Ideal candidates for the position should possess:

    * Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or analytical field (computer science, statistics, business, marketing, etc.)
    * Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and take on increasing levels of responsibility
    * Technical understanding and working knowledge of online technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, Flash and AJAX
    * Strong problem solving skills and thought leadership
    * Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
    * A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships and achieve results by working collaboratively with others
    * Tenacity in pursuit of goal execution
    * Ability to effectively prioritize the use of time and resources
    * Communication skills; can make recommendations, both written and verbal, in a way that demonstrates clarity and confidence.
    * Intellectual Curiosity; taking a global, strategic view and asking why things are the way they are.
