The Human Resources Generalist role supports the local and satellite locations in all areas of human resources including employee relations, recruitment and selection, compensation, development & training and performance management; strong hands-on background in employee relations, performance management, regulations/policies & conflict resolution required; Working knowledge of federal & state laws; excellent customer skills; effective oral & written communication skills. Previous experience in Insurance industry preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Build strong, successful relationships with leaders and employees to drive high performance in a positive work environment
* Function as a trusted advisor. Attends departmental meetings and monitors department activities, initiatives and projects to proactively identify and deliver HR services in a timely manner.
* Develop and deliver training programs and presentations
* Continuously help managers grow and develop their managerial skills by direct coaching, facilitating HR-led courses and recommending appropriate courses
* Demonstrate thorough understanding of issues and opportunities within employee population and provides appropriate counsel to management and employees to promote a productive and successful environment
* Partner with the cross functional HR team to develop and disseminate company-wide information, programs and systems
* Periodically lead HR projects. May recruit cross-functional teams of internal stakeholders and develop processes, procedures or systems for use within departments or Company wide.
* Support compensation processes including but not limited to analyzing market data, job benchmarking, reviewing descriptions, FLSA issues and participation in salary surveys
* Assist with the administration of benefit plans in coordination with benefits team
* Responsible for ensuring all HR and health and safety issues are implemented and consistently meeting all federal and state regulatory requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Requires a BA/BS in Business, Human Resources or a related field
* 5+ current years of Generalist experience with demonstrated success in diverse areas of HR including employee relations, recruitment and selection, compensation, development & training and performance management
* PHR Certification is a plus
* Requires excellent interpersonal and communications skills with a collaborative, consultative and innovative approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems. Demonstrated presentation development and delivery skills are required.
* Requires an in-depth understanding of federal, state and local employment laws with the ability to communicate them meaningfully to internal stakeholders
* High level of business acumen, training and coaching skills, and the ability to cultivate and develop effective influential business relationships
* Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Experience extracting and interpreting HRIS data (ADP)
* Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to multiple conflicting priorities, continuously prioritize and reprioritize deliverables and to respond to unexpected changes is required
