RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage product (either installed client applications or web-based applications and content) releases from project initiation through deployment/closing. Requires working with team members to identify tasks and estimates, building and managing to project plans, working with a core team of functional leads to identify, assign and commit functional resources to meet commitments, develop risk and communication plans, coordinating with external vendors and organizations in the areas of support, development, information architecture, creative design and testing. Support the Director in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance workflow efficiencies and reduce manual effort wherever possible.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide Project Management leadership, expertise, and support for multiple projects within a core area of focus (e.g., Gaming, Entertainment, Infrastructure, etc.)
- Manage project and team through the project phase deliverables associated with the project’s initiation, planning, execution and deployment/closing
- Identify and manage project risks and create associated mitigation plans
- Manage project issues log to initiate, track and record the resolution of project issues
- Ensure project milestones and deliverables are accomplished
- Facilitate weekly project status meetings to obtain and communicate project progress, accomplishments, near term tasks/deliverables, issues, etc.
- Develop a weekly status report to communicate project status to upper management
- Assist the Director with the mentoring and coaching of less senior staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 8 years experience managing complex web projects and teams.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an agency environment executing website design and development projects (e.g., RazorFish, Sapient, AKQA, etc.).
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 10-15 years industry experience in a media, communications, web presence or development environment.
- Strong writing, collaboration and follow-up skills.
- Excellent meeting facilitation, planning and management skills required.
- Excellent people skills.
- Experience working with people and obtaining consensus amongst groups.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.
- Knowledge of project management industry best practices.
- Experience managing external partner relationships (desired).
Experience with AGILE methodology (e.g., SCRUM) is desired but not required.
